The Van Gogh project

Together with several Dutch designers, ontwerpbureau 311 was asked to join the prestigious Van Gogh project.

To add value to the brand Van Gogh we developed a tableware collection based upon a specific painting of Van Gogh. The harvest is a prestigious painting of Van Gogh with fantastic colors and captures the daily lives of farmers in France. For the Van Gogh Museum, ontwerpbureau 311 delivered the concepts, coordinated production and supply chain.

Our aim was to develop ceramic tableware in such a specific way that Van Gogh could have painted it.

The characteristic deformation of his painted subjects was our inspiration point for creating unique pieces of ceramic tableware. The ceramic shapes are well-considered deformations just like the artistic imperfection of Van Gogh.
